hello vipers let's talk about how to
send a mass email to a specific segment
of your contacts in particular a segment
based on some data that you have on them
whether it might be their address or you
know how recently they were added to the
system or maybe it's based on some
custom information that you have about
them and so in this particular example
in this scenario we're going to be
to contacts that happen to be in a
particular geographical territory
and so here we can see I've got this
column that's showing geographical
territory and we have a few that are in
Mass you know short for Massachusetts
and that is a a custom field that we
have set and some contacts happen to be
in there so we go down here
you can see that color here
must have gone past it okay oh it looks
like this contact doesn't have any it's
actually we'll set an additional one
here geographical territory
Massachusetts will have one more person
um now there are two components that go
into this which is why we're making this
video today you first need to filter the
contacts you need to like you know
reduce the context that you're looking
at down to the ones that that have this
rule that is applied to them of
geographical territory equals
and then we need to then get a contact
list out of these people because the
contact list is ultimately what you
actually send your uh your communication
to contactless just think of them as
like a manila folder with a bunch of
files in them whereas filter views have
rules that apply to them and those rules
are always it's always like whatever is
uh whatever whatever contacts whatever
data like currently equals that criteria
we're looking at our contacts here I got
there by hidden contacts filter which is
where we then go to make a filter View
and then we set up the rules so in this
case it's going to be select field
it's going to do geographical territory
a little Pro tip here I just hit G and E
really quickly together to bring me down
to geographical territory nice and
geographical territory is or equals mass
so that's a very simple rule here and of
course you can apply additional ones as
um and then we're going to name the
let's chooses territory I'm going to hit
and here we go now we got our uh our
list of everybody who this applies to
and we're nearly there we just need to
make a contact list out of these people
and we can do that from this page
so I'm going to select all

and there we go the list is ready so I'm
going to click on that and go to this
and here we are and from here it's just
as simple as sending a mass email and
uh tell it what what template to send
