Accounts are businesses you have an ongoing relationship with.
Contacts are the people who you interact within an Account and can be added to an Account.
Opportunities can be added to Accounts. These can track your ongoing sales activities with existing customers.
Contacts can be standalone, without an Account. We recommend tracking prospects as a standalone Contact and adding an Opportunity to them when they become an active sales opportunity.
Pro Tip:
Create a separate Sales Pipeline for Account Opportunities. This way you can track your prospecting and account management activities separately.
Adding Custom Fields For Your Accounts
Setting Up Account Hierarchy
Account hierarchy allows you to set up a relationship between accounts. If you work with businesses who have relationships with each other, that you need to track then this is a useful tool.
To get started, navigate to an account you would like to make into a parent / child account
Click the + icon in the "Related Accounts" card
Either select an existing account or create a new one and select whether it's a parent or child
