How to Set Up Zapier

hello vipers let's talk about how to use

zapier so that you can have vipe cloud

talk with other business software that

you have uh as a part of your stack

so zapier is a freemium platform that

enables

otherwise unrelated business software

platforms to integrate with one another

without a direct integration

so what i mean by freemium is that it is

typically free to use except for in

certain circumstances where you're a

very heavy user

or there are also certain software

platforms though not too many that just

simply require a uh

someone to pay for zapier in order to

use it

vyp cloud is not one of those and

most other software

is not a premium

connection to use in in zapier

and so zapier allows

vip cloud to work with

honestly most of the software that is

out there without us having to build a

direct integration in the first place um

though we do have a a bunch of platforms

that do have direct integrations

including calmly go to webinar

and quickbooks

and we are always adding more to that

list

and so

to get started with this you can go to

your setup page right here

click on zapier

and then from here you can click on this

button right here to

click here to create your zaps

and then that will take you to uh to

zapier and make it so that the the vipe

cloud

integration is available to you on that

platform

you'll need to create an account here

like i said it is free for information

about their uh their paid plans you can

see that on their website

and then to uh to create a zap you can

go right here create zap

something to know about uh how their

integrations work is that it's sets of

triggers and actions and so

each zap will have one trigger and then

it will have at least one action because

you are actually able to have multiple

actions

that happen after an individual trigger

now in most cases people are sending

information to vipe cloud

using zapier that's just kind of how

crms tend to work they were mostly

gathering information as opposed to

sending it out although we do actually

have the ability to send information out

as well

and so

what you'll want to do is choose from

choose from some other some app that you

are looking to

to send information

to vypcloud

in this case i'm just going to use

microsoft office right here because i

already have that uh that connected

and in most cases when it comes to

connecting

a platform here

you're uh

either going to need to just

authenticate by logging in and also

you'll often need to collect an api key

from your account in order to do that

just to quickly go over that with vip

cloud actually api keys can be found

right here it might sound technical but

it's actually a very simple process all

you need to do is click on that and here

just so i don't uh

reveal what my

keys are here let me just

there we go so after you click on that

it'll take you to this page right here

create api key right down here you'll

see a string of numbers copy those

numbers over paste it into

the the field that

zapier is looking for

along with your email address that'll be

all set for your for your vip cloud

authentication that is

uh other platforms might work a little

bit differently and you'll have to refer

to them

for further clarification

so from here trigger event you're going

to be choosing what it is you want to

have initiate the automation

and so here we can see what uh

what microsoft's uh are

and and then it's very linear process

you go through continue and so on and so

forth

and then you go to create your action in

this case we're gonna do a vip cloud

and so

this is something this is actually what

we're looking at here actually is a

little bit of a bug on zapier side this

has been going on for quite some time

now actually the good news is is purely

aesthetic where you see

indeed what is the most uh what is the

newest

version of the vipe cloud

app

uh on zapier which is while i'm

recording this is 1.6.1

um

yet it still says newer available so

really all you ever need to do is just

choose whichever one is the highest

number so that in that case is this

right here

uh since i've already connected my vip

cloud account here this is already all

set

and

and then we choose the action event

and so here are the here's the current

list of actions that are available

from vip cloud

you have create contact so that means

that if whatever your trigger is has

contact information in it you're able to

create a contact right there

create opportunity this also allows you

to uh to create an opportunity

and then you can launch a series as well

and you can log in activity so that'll

be like um

like a a closed task basically that

you're able to create on a contact

record

and then also update opportunity in

cases where you're looking to just pull

in information that already exists

for an opportunity

and so

one thing too that

here we go select that continue

there we go and so the way this works is

actually it's very much like importing

information

so it's very much just matching the

fields now because i don't have any real

sample information that's coming over

from this we're not going to see a whole

lot here but basically what happens is

in vip cloud we have all this available

information that can be added from an

external source you click on click here

and if that external app is providing

data that has contact data you'll be

able to choose it right from right here

and say you know this is the address

information this is the company name

information and uh and so on and so

forth additionally you're also able to

add contacts to contact lists which can

be quite handy as well for building up

newsletter lists and things like that

now one thing too that i want to

emphasize is that we are very much uh

happy to work with you on this process

as well it's generally a pretty

straightforward process but occasionally

people can run into issues along the way

and have questions and if that happens
