Getting Started With Filter Views

hello vipers let's talk about filter

views

so filter views are an easy way to pull

up groups of most commonly contacts but

also accounts contact lists

tasks opportunities and more

based on

certain criteria

so that might be if you want to pull up

every contact that

is in a particular city has certain uh

certain tags on the contact

or maybe you've

reached out to them in a certain amount

of time

this is how you'll want to go about

doing that and the difference between

filter views and contact lists

is that

contact lists are contacts that you just

put into a list regardless of the

criteria at least as far as the system

is concerned

filter views

are are based on that moment's criteria

and how they match it so for instance if

you're pulling up every contact that is

in the state of massachusetts and then

you change a contact to a different

state they will automatically be removed

from that filter view

um so

to to pull up a filter view

you'll want to go to contact accounts or

whatever it is that you're looking to

filter

and then you will see this filter button

right here

click on that

and here's where you can apply the rules

so uh so for instance

let's uh let's say first name is

john

okay

and then there we go we've got one

contact that matches that criteria

and of course you can apply multiple

rules here as well

and uh also if you just hit

letters on your key keyboard you'll be

able to sort of search these relatively

quickly

okay you give it the rule

name filter view hit ok

and there we go so what we just did was

we searched for every crate every

contact that matches this particular tag

and you can also

apply this filter across multiple users

contacts so if you are like an admin for

instance and you are

able to

to view multiple people's contacts

then this way you can actually pull up

uh results from everybody who you are

allowed to see

and you can also share this with other

users so if this is a useful filter for

other people who are in your team

hit all users right there and then other

people in your team will be able to see

this filter view as well

one other thing

is that you can start your filters as

well and so the difference here is that

well first of all

uh you are able to

bring up your filter view

by looking right here so uh so for

instance

you know you start the day and you want

to pull up that example filter view that

was made you go right here my contacts

is often going to be a default view or

maybe all contacts

then you can scroll through here

find your filter view and pull it up

however

if it's uh

it's a filter view that you want to give

a larger presence and make easier to to

pull up you can start

hit refresh and

then you will see it over here in your

starred

filters

click the star again

and you can remove it from there
