How Marketing Contacts Work

Marketing Contacts are contacts that exist on at least one Contact List.

Contacts not on a Contact List do not count as Marketing Contacts

Contacts can still receive 1:1 emails without being Marketing Contacts

A contact can belong to multiple lists and still only counts once

Do I need Marketing Contacts to send 1:1 emails?

No. Only contacts on Contact Lists count as Marketing Contacts.

If a contact is on multiple lists, do they count more than once?

No. Each contact only counts once, regardless of how many lists they’re on.

Can I remove contacts to reduce my usage?

Marketing Contact limits cannot be reduced during an active billing term, whether monthly or annual.

While you can remove contacts from Contact Lists, your Marketing Contact capacity remains fixed for the duration of your contract. This ensures stable sending limits, deliverability, and fair use across the platform.

We do not support temporary list expansion and reduction for short-term campaigns.

Can Plus plans add Marketing Contacts?

No. Additional Marketing Contacts are available only on Pro and Enterprise plans.
